20-Something Diaries: ClixWell

ClixWell. Style enthusiast, TV presenter and Operations Manager for SA streetwear label CHASE Apparel.

What makes this Eastern Cape native so hard to ignore? At only 27, ClixWell has racked up a career that many 20-somethings would kill for.

He is a self-confessed foodie, sports lover and regards his mother as the source of his success. But, what really makes this man tick? Find out more about this Eastern Cape catch!

May: How would you describe yourself?
Clix: I am God's son.

May: Who would you say is your style icon?
Clix: Definitely David Beckham! It's easy to wear a fitted suit, but Beckham does the semi formal & casual thing equally well. He's too cool. Followed closely by Joshua Kissi, Google him!

May: Describe your personal style?
Clix: Casual, but dressy. I don't wear suits and button ups every day, so I have to find ways to incorporate a bit of flair into my casual day-to-day look.

May: What's the one thing you can't live without?
Clix: I know you said one, but I can't go without a good haircut & a good pair jeans. Nice, heavy, fitted, durable jeans.

May: Where would you take a lady on a first date?
Clix: It would have to be somewhere with lots of people around, so as to ease our nerves. Maybe a night at a theme park, or ten pin bowling and some drinks. The intimate stuff will come after the inevitable second date!

May: What's the one fashion trend you can't stand?
Clix: Haha um, bucket hats disgust me. I cannot stand them. I can't get into Jordans either - overpriced and overrated for me.

May: Which 5 items should all men own?
Clix: A plain white long sleeved  button up shirt, a fitted suit, very good cologne, a good quality pair of jeans and strangely All Stars.

May: What inspires you?
Clix: People with a great work ethic. People with passion. The idea of making someone proud of me & Gods love.

May: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Clix: I see myself heading up a family business in media with close colleagues. And being a shareholder in the biggest independent clothing brand in the country.

20-Something Diaries: TP Pillay

I recently sat down with TP Pillay, the man behind the successful South African street wear label CHASE Apparel.

At only 25, TP has already carved out quite a name for himself in the local scene, as an aspiring entrepreneur and creative director. Lets get to know a bit more about this man & his take on fashion.

May: Describe yourself in 3 words.
TP: Ambitious, smart & funny.

May: What would you be doing if you weren't in the fashion industry?
TP: I'd probably be in the hospitality industry.

May: Who is is your biggest inspiration?
TP: Probably my dad, as he was an amazing businessman. His determination and desire to succeed have always influenced me in my own business decisions.

May: Which 4 essential fashion pieces belong in every man's closet?
TP: A clean white shirt, a tailored blazer, well fitted jeans & a watch. A watch is the perfect way to round off a look!

May: Which fashion trend do you absolutely hate?
TP: On guys, definitely baggy pants, as it just looks untidy. And, on girls, probably those Spice Girls shoes that always seem to come back into fashion.

May: If you could take 3 things to a dessert island, what would they be and why?
TP: A lady friend, my cellphone & my dog!

May: If today was your last day on earth, how would you spend it?
TP: I'd hire a private jet, fly to Vegas with my brother, sister & closest friends for a night on the town.

May: What annoys you most about SA youth culture?
TP: They follow trends way too quickly, especially when it comes to shaping their styles around American culture. I rate its time we start creating our own trends.

May: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
TP: Owning an international fashion label and being a renowned business mogul.

May: Which quote do you live by?

Kendall & Kylie Cover Marie Claire.

There's nothing I don't like about this spread in Marie Claire featuring Kendall and Kylie Jenner. These two ladies unashamedly dominate in this shoot for the Mexican issue of the magazine!

The Frida inspired styling completely reeled me in - the slicked back hair, low buns and matte lipstick pair beautifully with the sisters doe-eyed expressions. Kendall's embroidered purple jumpsuit is insane. The girl fits it so well, and it's easy to see why she's so big in the fashion industry right now!
