Cape Town:

2013: Style Icon - Selena Gomez!

This year saw so many fashionable looks hitting the red carpet, but my personal favourite was definitely Selena Gomez! 

The starlet may have that innocent butter-wouldn't-melt-in-my-mouth look, but she certainly plays a great style game. I love the way she mixes up her looks, shows off her different personalities and effortlessly morphs into a beautiful style chameleon!

Fashion is about having fun and experimenting with your wardrobe. Get out of your comfort zone. Play dress-up. 

Show off who you are on a specific day, do it with ingenuity and never, ever succumb to the trend dictator! 

The Night Boys Turn Into Men: The NYE Edition!

Ring in the New Year with impeccable style & you're off to a great start boys. Anything less than your A-game on a night of infinite possibilities is just poor form!

NYE is my glittery hole of fun - you're living on the edge of glory, without the rules of typical style confinement.

Guys, I say go rugged but refined. I love a man in a tux, but unless you're actually going to a black tie affair, there's no point in going all pseudo-penguin. Instead, opt for something well-fitted, yet edgy - exaggerated elegance is what NYE is all about after all!

My tip? A blazer is always a great style staple, especially for semi-formal events & late night shindigs. Do that, and that midnight kiss is pretty much a sure thing!

Marc Jacobs has devoted his final campaign for Louis Vuitton to his fashion muses - Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Gisele Bündchen, Fan Bingbing, Caroline de Maigret and Edie Campbell.

The downplayed makeup, dark shadows and sombre atmosphere is pretty much a perfect au revoir!
