Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town - A Roundup

Cape Town Fashion Week is the well-dressed darling child of a city that is the unofficial home of fashion. It's awfully inspiring to be around wandering creatives, who refuse to colour within the lines when it comes to creating stunning Summer collections.

Fashion week is also extremely exhausting and intensely chaotic. For 3 consecutive days, one is expected to live, breathe and eat fashion - in heels! My experience this year was probably my favourite, and most likely because I faked my way through the big talkers and fashion conscious bloggers.

You truly have to fake the confidence, pick up your heels and kick through the glitter covered floors to get anywhere in this industry - your future self will thank you for it!

Fashion Week essentials:

  • a bag that is small enough to fit through the waif thin fashion crew, but big enough to hold some bright pink lipstick, facial oil blotters and eyeliner.
  • A camera to snap away during the shows
  • a few pins - gravity doesn't always love me when I'm trying to be cool.
  • A fully charged smartphone

Street style from Thula Sindi was a favorite of mine!
Geometric prints in strong colours added attitude to Goat Clothing's collection
Backpacks made quite a street style statement this year
Nautical shades were a strong theme at Fabiani
Edgy pops of colour at Fabiani
Fabiani showed us why we we love a man in a suit
