Trend Alert: Daisy Prints.

The daisy print craze seems to be popping up everywhere these days. From runways to the streets, you can't really afford to miss out on this floral obsession this season.

Prada and Valentino have both showed off their spin on the demure, but chic daisy print - think dark and romantic. This isn't the happy affair that we're used to seeing with typical floral prints, and is rather moody.

Think minimalism with a floral spin. I quite like.

Jeannie in a Bottle

Coco Chanel summed it up perfectly - “A woman who does not use perfume has no future."

Local media darling Jeannie Dee is ready to unleash her seductive scent in the form a new fragrance aptly named "Jeannie in a Bottle"!

The sexy news sparked my interest a few weeks ago when teaser images of the campaign were revealed - she looks absolutely stunning in these sensual shots, by one of my favourite photographers Sian Chapman.

Few local celebrities have branched out into the beauty industry, so trust Jeannie to be the ingenious mastermind behind this sweet-smelling move. "Sophisticated oriental floral" with top notes of citrus and fruit, is what we have to look forward to when the fragrance officially launches, on 1st December, at Clicks stores nationwide.

If you're in a dry spell, and simply can't wait to get your hands on this little bottle of sophistication, head on over here to pre-order Jeannie in a Bottle at R329.99.

M.I.A - where have I been?

I read so many blog posts which start with "I'm so sorry that I've been neglecting you for so long" - and I HATE it. But, I also feel as if I've been rather quiet lately, and I'm sorry, not sorry.

Working the grind. A pretty little PR grind with lots of lovely ladies, gluten-free cupcakes and daily rants about how we lust media & fashion so, so much. I love it.

#BusyAsABee
My new working gig has me pretty damn busy, but the nice, rewarding, creative kind of busy. I resigned from my previous job, after falling into a deep boredom trap after a few months. My soul was dying and the creative juices had just about dried up.

Working lunch - BEST.
Change of scenery? Yes please! I firmly believe that if you're not happy where you are, then change it. Move. Quit. Leave. Explore. Eat some sugar. DO whatever you need to do to get you aligned with who you really are. That layer of undefined potential is supposed to peak at some point, but you have to do 80% of the sweaty work, so do it. Trust me, I have the crazy eyes to show for it.

Tuesday nigh drinks at the Bombay Bicycle Club - yummy drinks & yummy barmen!
Oh, and I also went on a cruise this week! JimmiJagga gathered a group of us for a #SunsetSelfie cruise complete with stacks of quench-thirsting JimmiJagga, and copious amounts of sushi.

JimmiJagga & sushi!
Keen as a bean, I boarded the boat humming the Love Boat theme song - nothing like a few friends, yummy drinks and the beauty of Cape Town on  a week night.

Sadly, my date Devina and I both got sea sick after only half an hour! Along with Penelope from A Fashion Friend, we pulled out the drama and got off the boat early. Swallow me up world. Beyond cringe-worthy!

Penelope and I about to jump off the boat
Luckily, I still managed to top up with some delicious JimmiJagga before the nausea pulled up. The plum red flavour was absolutely yummy!

I love the fact that this is a wine spritzer with a bit more of a kick - light enough to have you in one piece, but still allows you to behave with the anonymity of a kid at the big people's party.

Summer is almost here, and I plan on sippin' on some JimmiJagga juice - I suggest you do to!

Have a sweet day lovers.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2013

Many people hate the annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for obvious reasons.

Skinny girls parading in barely there lingerie? I get it. It stands for all that is wrong with society's perception of beauty, and most definitely places a great deal of unwanted pressure on women, especially in terms of keeping up with photoshopped perfection.

Degrading? Maybe. Let's parade in our underwear like pretty little objects, and let viewers own us for a bit. Hyper-sexualised creatures of the runway? Probably.

But, it's fashion - don't take it so seriously! I love watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - fashion, beauty, music - it's completely theatrical and fun. It's a parade of 67 beautiful outfits, 40 pairs of the longest legs, 28 pairs of wings, and a $10 million dollar fantasy bra!

Personally, I treat it like Alice in Wonderland. You idolise the stage that their world is built on, you get lost in the glitter, and you're even charmed by the lace. But, you know that it's not real.

Dip through the fantasy of Victoria's Secret and fall in lust. I certainly have.

Fashion Forward: My fave looks this week!

It's only Tuesday, and I feel as though I'm already on a fashion high from this week's best dressed celebrities.

Nicole Richie stole my soul in a gorgeous ensemble from Alberta Ferretti - the demure crop top and bold, striped maxi skirt completely blew me away!

Then there was Jessica Alba in a fuschia strapless gown from Reem Acra, which she looked amazing in. I love the "barely there" makeup and minimal accessories, which tied the whole look together - a dress like this can either kill it or be senseless overkill!

Also, Miley Cyrus had my tongue wagging, with her rapper inspired dress at the EMA's. Tupac and Biggie. On her ass. I can only imagine that somewhere out there, the rappers are turning in their graves!

Thank you Miley for the camel toe. No, not actually.

COSMO Summer Party with JimmiJagga!

Summer soirees are in full swing right now! I officially started off my silly season at the COSMOPOLITAN Summer Party at Shimmy Beach Club last Friday.

The invite had me pretty excited - JimmiJagga and Pascal & Pearce always know how to get a party started!

I took advantage of Cape Town's Summer sunshine, and threw on a pair of black shorts from Cotton On and a turquoise blouse that I got from Australia. Both on sale by the way!

My pal Charlene and I were greeted to a complimentary bottle of refreshing JimmiJagga on arrival. If you're not in the mood to wake up and not remember who you are, where you are and what you did last night, then JimmiJagga is probably for you.

It's a light wine spritzer in retro-inspired packaging, so of course I loved it! I had the lemon flavour, which was crisp enough to have me sashaying in a single line, but still had me on a bit of a buzz.

Revlon was also on hand to do our nails and make-up - COSMO really did pull out all the stops. I decided on going for Revlon Nail Enamel in Fuschia Fever 901, which I would definitely recommend.

I'm notorious for chipped nail polish (straight out of a movie set in the South), but this went on smoothly and dried super fast!

We danced the night away next to a gorgeous indoor pool at Shimmy, along to tunes by Pascale & Pearce, Crazy White Boy and DJ Sox. Yes, we even took of our shoes and danced on the sand.

Thank you to COSMOPOLITAN for a fabulous night out!

If you're not sure of what to do this Summer, then I suggest you pay a visit to Shimmy Beach Club - they just announced that they'll be launching a host of dangle-your-toes-in-the-pool parties this season.

Yes, the GOLDFISH Submerged Sunday events are back!
