No Summer Lust? Join Weaver.

Summer can either make or break you. You're either that girl or guy breaking egos on the dancefloor, or the "cultured" type huddled with a lass of vino on the couch watching Pride and Prejudice. On a Friday. At night.

The problem with the holidays is that most people already have more than enough friends to start their very own party bus, and aren't that keen to take in strays. Got 99 problems and a friend aint one of them? Pretty damn sad baby.

I recently came across startup company Weaver, which is a social media matchmaker for groups of friends. The best part is that Weaver is devoid of the pressure of an online dating profile - instead, you are asked to use your Facebook account! All you're asked to enter is essential info, such as if you're good at putt-putt or have enough tenacity to survive a game of cat and mouse. Easy peasy stuff.

The info is then used to match you (plus two friends) with 3 other friends. Basically, you end up with a group of 6 people who are just out to have good convo and a good time - forget about finding "the one"! Weaver charges R79 per person to arrange for the groups of friends to meet and the first round of drinks is on them. Sounds too good to be true, right?

I had a look at some of the pics on the Weaver Facebook page, and can confirm that no mingers, truck drivers or weirdos were spotted. Instead, you seem to have a group of friends having loads of innocent fun, with the added benefit of a little liquid confidence.

It's like a wingman party. With more wine. They only have one rule - play nice!

Visit Weaver here.
